Hey. Hi. Hello!
You’re Tired. You’re Overwhelmed. You’re Still Here.
If that sounds like you, welcome. You’re in the right place.
I’m Lisa, and I get it. I’ve spent over 20 years as a Special Education Teacher: K–12, self-contained, resource, co-teaching, applied classes. I’ve stayed late, taken weekends for planning, and silently asked myself how much longer I could do this. And yet… I still love it.
Here’s the truth no one says enough: loving teaching doesn’t make it easy. You can care deeply about your students and still feel drained by the constant paperwork, meetings, expectations, and emotional load. Feeling tired doesn’t mean you’re failing, it means you’ve been carrying more than one person should.
In 2017, I almost quit teaching. Not because I stopped caring, but because I was running on empty. I updated my résumé, interviewed, and even had a job offer. What stopped me wasn’t guilt, it was realizing I didn’t need to leave education. I needed support, systems, and boundaries that let me keep teaching without losing myself.
Now, I help teachers do exactly that. As a Special Education Mentor and Coach, I work with teachers who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly questioning themselves. Together, we build planning systems that actually work, implement meaningful SDI without burning out, and reclaim energy, without sacrificing heart or students’ success.
How I Support Teachers Here
This isn’t another teaching blog full of “perfect” ideas that leave you feeling behind. This is real, practical, no-BS support for teachers who are tired, but not done.
Here, you’ll find:
Tools that actually work – templates, systems, and strategies that save time and mental energy
Honest perspective – from someone who’s lived the chaos and stayed
Support and encouragement – a place to pause, regroup, and breathe
Workshops and trainings – online and in-person sessions focused on work-life rhythm and sustainable teaching
Community that understands – because you shouldn’t have to carry this alone
The Resource Room is the heart of this site: a collection of practical tools and supports you can return to again and again when teaching feels heavy.
Rooted in purpose and shaped by real classroom experience, this is a space for educators who think deeply, care fiercely, and want their work to make a real difference…without burning themselves out.
You’re welcome here. → Start in the Resource Room
This space exists because teachers deserve more than survival mode. Let’s be real, living in survival mode is no place to live everyday.
It’s a place that:
Calls burnout what it is - no judgment, no sugarcoating
Offers tools that actually make teaching lighter (yes, the ones you’ll actually use)
Reminds you that being tired doesn’t mean you’re failing, it means we need to unpack the tired and figure the real root.
This is a corner of the internet where we stop pretending everything is fine. Where you’ll find real strategies, honest conversations, and reminders that you can love this job and keep your sanity.
This is a space for educators who know the work matters and also know the way we’re asked to do it isn’t sustainable.
